The Village Idiot

We started out this Presidents Day with the thought of finally trying Square One in Los Feliz, directly across from the Scientology Center, which used to be Cedars of Lebanon Hospital where I was born, my mother was born and my father was born. Well, it was closed. Again. It's website says open 7 days a week, 8-4. Don't believe it.

Well, I definitely still want to try there, we, instead, went to what was open and new, the Village Idiot (formerly Chianti) on Melrose. The room was cool, the windows great (though, the sun was a bit relentless -- some shades won't go astray) and the food delish.

We had the shrip/scallion fritters to start. Delish!

Carl had the pub burger which was a tad dry for my liking but he liked it and I had the fish n chips, which were delish. The hand cut fries were tasty, soft n hard where they should be and altogether outstanding.

Serivce was great.

We will be back to the Idiot!
