Ragtime

Thanks to my friend Tom, I have this great clip from the original Broadway production of Ragtime. What makes the story of this great American story better is the great American and Canadian financial shenanigans that went on behind the production. Anyway, enjoy.

One of my favorite musicals. And what's interesting to note is that "Ragtime" actually had the rare and somewhat controversial distinction of having its original U.S. production in 1997 in Los Angeles at the long-gone Shubert Theatre in Century City and only after that moved to Broadway, which is one of the reasons it did not win the Tony for Best Musical. Them New Yorkers don't cotton to sloppy seconds.
